Retro-Engineering can make new Sailed Back Dinosaurs and Skye Dinosaurs a Reality

How cool, or perhaps scary, would it be to have a pet dinosaur? Well, with retro-engineering, the discovery of dinosaur footprints, and Dr. Jack Horner this might be a reality. Over the last month, the world has discovered footprints left by Skye Dinosaurs and also the discovery of sailed back Dinosaurs. With retro-engineering and this information, doctors like Horner could make it happen.

WHAT IS RETRO-ENGINEERING?

Before we begin, it is important to fully understand what retro-engineering is. This is the process of extracting any man-made information and then reproducing it to create something. Usually, this will involve disassembling something, such as organic matter or electronic devices, and then analyzing them in detail. This is a practice that Dr. Jack Horner is currently partaking in.

NEW SAILED BACK DINOSAURS DISCOVERED

Scientists from the National Distance Education University published an article and it stated that a new dinosaur was discovered. The fossils were found in Morella. The team of researchers that discovered this say the new sailed back dinosaur is a part of the Ornithopods. These types of dinosaurs were plant-eaters. The appearance of this sailed back dinosaur is unique as well. Very long neural spines on its vertebrae distinguish it very well.

SKYE DINOSAURS FOOTPRINTS RECENTLY DISCOVERED

Earlier this month, a group of scientists discovered some footprints left by the Skye dinosaur. They were found in Britain and the lead scientist of the discovery noted that it was the first discovered footprints of this type of dinosaur over there. When the scientists revealed this discovery, they pointed out how they were going to study the findings in detail.

DR. JACK HORNER WORKING WITH RETRO-ENGINEERING FOR PET DINOSAURS

As mentioned earlier, there is one doctor right now that is working with retro-engineering to try and re-create dinosaurs. A few months ago, Dr. Jack Horner started conducting a project to try and grow dinosaur parts on chickens. His plans were to take the embryos from the chickens and then give them the genes of their ancestors. This would include a snout, their ancestors teeth, clawed hands, and a tail. This is just the starting point because, with this technology, it could go further.

HOW HORNER CAN MAKE SAILED BACK DINOSAURS AND SKYE DINOSAURS

The technology exists for this to happen and it is in the form of retro-engineering. Also, scientists have information on both sailed back dinosaurs and Skye dinosaurs. Combine these two factors and the brains of Dr. Horner, and this is a recipe that could see dinosaur pets. The one aspect to keep in mind is, Horner mentions that this can be done with birds because they are technically a kind of dinosaur. A random pet would be much more difficult to turn into a dinosaur.

WOULD SAILED BACK DINOSAURS AND SKYE DINOSAURS MAKE A GOOD PET?

So, with all of this being said, is this a good or bad idea? If Horner and his team do successfully morph a bird into a dinosaur, will there be consequences? Will these chickens turn into blood sucking vultures? If they are still civil, would they make a trustworthy pet? So many questions arise with the prospect of dinosaurs as pets. Due to retro-engineering, there is no reason to question if this is theoretically possible. Of course, the key word there is theoretical. However, even if it is achieved, I myself would not feel comfortable with a dinosaur pet. The whole idea just seems like a potential disaster to me.
