Apple Makes Jobs While Microsoft Does Charity, Fish or Rod?

Apple Makes Jobs While Microsoft Does Charity, Fish or Rod Clapway

Apple has announced the opening of an App Development Center in Italy, making ways for a million new jobs in Europe. Microsoft has made a few, too. The company had absolutely no presence in the European data exploring the market.

Apple Makes Jobs Instead of Taxes

Analysts and economic strategists are still scrutinizing the move. The surge of App Economy jobs only came after the App Store was launched in 2008, it has grown exponentially. The job market is completely different thanks to the surge of these kinds of jobs.

After 2008, Apple has brought 242,000 App Economy jobs to the United Kingdom, 209,000 to Germany, 163,000 to France and 96,000 to the Netherlands. Apple has declared that they currently employ 6,500 people in the United Kingdom directly, and cites almost 646,000 registered developers.

European Developers Are the ‘Most Creative’

Developers in the European region have earned more than $11 billion in app sales, according to Apple. The company takes 30% of these earnings. 75% of App Economy employees in the region are part of the iOS platform. That makes for 1.2 million jobs. Android also claims to hold 75% of App Economy jobs. Microsoft Windows Phone only holds 9% and Blackberry holds 6%.

It’s obvious that Android, Microsoft, and Blackberry are seriously lacking. The companies don’t have a very serious presence in Europe in the smartphone industry, but it could change soon. This can be because of the incredible popularity that the iPhone received since its inception.

What Does the New Data Center Mean for Apple, Google, and Microsoft?

The new iOS App Development Center will be opening in Naples, Italy. It will further boost the European App economy, offering fresh skills and training in app development for the iOS ecosystem. Apple CEO Tim Cook has openly described European developers as some of the most creative in the world, so the company is excited about the new branch. Since the opening of the App Store, Apple claims they created more than 1.4 million jobs for Europe. They are hoping to continue bringing new opportunities to the region.

Google and Microsoft don’t have as solid of a presence in the continent. Thanks to the opening of this center, it’s possible that this will change. Or in a different turn of events, Microsoft might choose a different venue. It’s possible that both companies open branches in India instead.
