At the moment, virtual pornography is an exciting technology that will surely gain some quick fans, but is it just a fad or will it replace sites like Pornhub forever?
YOUTUBE VIDEO GIVES VR PORN A TRY
Two men, who seem to fit the demographic of Pornhub users, posted an educational and hilarious video on Youtube. The pair toyed around with VR porn much to their delight and recorded the results on Youtube. The necessary parts were censored, but it’s fair to say everyone gets the idea. There’s been a great deal of hype surrounding VR porn lately. With virtual headsets coming out, developers are jumping on the bandwagon to make pornography explode in the virtual market. If this YouTube video is any indication, people will find some fun in it. Whether or not it will change the industry forever, is debatable.
SAME THING AS PORNHUB BUT VIRTUAL
Despite how fascinating this new technology is and how amazed those guys on YouTube were, there is still one major problem with VR porn. It’s all the same content you’d find on PornHub. You know, the pizza guy knocks on the door, or the cable guy comes to “fix” the tv. That kind of stuff. Some think the technology has great promise, but at the moment, it’s going down the cliche path of targeting men. If virtual reality porn really wants to make a lasting difference, independent developers are going to have to get involved.
AS ALWAYS THE RICH GET RICHER
Like many industries, the small, innovative and artistic developers in VR pornography get overshadowed by corporate big wigs. Filming pornography is expensive, and even more so in the virtual realm. Costs are locking out indie filmmakers that only have small budgets. It’s the mainstream producers that are making the most virtual reality adult videos. These companies are just falling back into their old conservative ways due to their economic power. After all, Pornhub is profitable so why change? Virtual reality technology has the chance to change the adult film industry. Unless indie developers can get out there, expect more of the same cliches found on Pornhub.
