Zombies walk among us, but maybe not like in TV shows and films. In the 1700s it wasn’t uncommon to be horrified of being buried alive. In fact, this happened back in the day, since scratch marks have been found on the inside of coffins. This is indeed scary, and if you don’t want to take the risk, you may opt for cremation. Coming back to life after being declared dead would never happen today, right? Think again, because the five people below all rose from the dead very recently, and scientists think God had a hand in it.
5. Carlos Sanchez Ortiz De Salazar living the Manifest Destiny of God
In a bizarre twist, Carlos Sanchez Ortiz De Salazar came back from the dead. However, he was not going towards the light when he returned. He was actually just living off the land, fulfilling the Manifest Destiny of God perhaps. After he disappeared in 1995, his family thought the worst, suicide, and declared him dead years later. To their surprise, however, he was found in the Tuscany woods in 2015.
4. Terri Thompson was declared dead by the government; Thompson and God had no idea
Doctors told Terri Thompson she would be lucky to see the age of 25. She proved them wrong and lived a relatively normal and full life despite her rare disease. However, when she was 49, she discovered the government actually declared her dead. She was later brought back to life with paperwork.
3. Judy Rivers found out that being dead was worse than being alive; God has a better filing system
When Judy Rivers was added to the Death Master File, she found out being dead was not so great when you are still alive. Apparently, the government has a list of every dead person ever, but Rivers was added by mistake. This makes the filing system God has far more organized. Rivers couldn’t open a bank account and was arrested for identity theft, but she was in fact still alive. Luckily she and congress had a meeting to work it out.
2. Donald Miller Jr. was declared Dead; But maybe God has him on his list?
In an effort to get out of a large child-support payment, Donald Miller Jr. disappeared. He was soon declared dead by the state of Ohio, and God may have him on his list for being a poor family supporter. When Miller surfaced after 20 years, he found out he was dead, and he may still be legally dead after the state refused to bring him back to life on paper.
1. Ishinosuke Uwano never surrendered
There are always stories of WWII Japanese soldiers surfacing in odd places. They truly don’t know the word surrender, and Ishinosuke Uwano is one of those soldiers. After the war efforts moved from his post on a remote island, Uwano moved to Russia and kept his war efforts up in his mind. He later showed up at a Japanese embassy wishing to return home and be one of the living again. God works in mysterious ways.
