Disco Dog Keeps Your Dog Safe And Stylish

Soon the act of going for a walk with your dog will become quite the celebratory occasion. Disco Dog, a dog vest created by Party New York, will bring your pet plenty of attention—especially if your dog happens to go missing.

Disco Dog is the world’s first ever smartphone controlled rechargeable LED vest. The vest is created using LEDs, a microcontroller, and a bluetooth low energy chip. The LED grid and electronic parts on the vest can be removed in order for you to wash it safely.

The LED lights change color, display different patterns and even display phrases depending on the settings you choose using the bluetooth-connected Disco Dog iPhone or Android app. The vest has 256 full RGB LED lights for you and your pet to get funky with. Disco Dog’s animated display modes include color gradation, sparkle, stripes, firefly, and alarm.

If your dog ever happens to be too far away from your smartphone (which, for most smartphone users, would mean the dog isn’t near you), the vest’s LED lights will read “LOST DOG,” immediately alerting anyone who sees your wandering pet that they are wandering without an owner.

Disco Dog comes in small, medium and large. The small vest fits a dog 11 to 13 inches long with a 17 to 20 inch girth. Size medium fits a dog 13 to 15 inches long with a girth of 19 to 22 inches. The large vest fits a dog 17 to 19 inches long with a 24 to 27 girth. Disco Dog is lightweight for the comfort of your dog and its everyday travel.
Party New York is producing only 80 Disco Dog vests for its Kickstarter campaign, which has already surpassed its $15,000 goal with two more weeks to go. A portion of the vests produced with campaign money will be used during the pop-up Disco Dog launch event in New York City to which VIP backers, their dogs and the local community will be invited.

The creators do not advise that you take your pet for a walk while wearing Disco Dog in heavy rain or snow, as the microcontroller can get damaged.

Keeping your dog super stylish and safe calls for a uniquely celebratory dog walk every sunny day or clear sky night of the week. Beware of jealous cats staring at your dog out of windows.
