Wearable Tech Items: A Lack Of Ideal Interest A Growing Concern?

With an increasing number of people doing travel for business, this will most likely mean that more and more of them will begin to reap the benefits or wearable tech items. However, while there are clearly a large majority of workers that have deeply caught the tech bug, there are also a slew of others that have yet to become everyday users of wearable tech items.

Growing Market Concerns Over Wearable Tech

One of the most notable moves in the tech world today that may or may not indicate that today’s devices don’t exactly have a 100% approval rate was made by none other than Glass, who axed its Explorer program. The serious announcement sparked many of those in the tech industry to consider the Google Glass product as good as dead.

Interesting to note, Google had previously ran tests on Glass at one of the most highly active airports in Europe; Amsterdam’s Schiphol hub in the Netherlands. It allowed airport authority officers to pull up both plane and gate details without using their hands. Although those tests worked quite well for individuals who were on duty, there is still a strong concern that the general public may never fully embrace the wearable tech items.

Tech Crunch reported that it is not “a technology destined for the mass market, but for niche industrial and service industry applications.”

Travelers To Be Targeted By The Nascent Industry

Nonetheless, whether any form of wearable tech takes off in the market as it should – or not, those that travel for corporate reasons are the ones that the nascent industry will likely be honing in on, according to The Week.

Be it time constraints, easier navigation or planning ahead, products such as the above-mentioned Google Glass or Microsoft Hololens could still become the norm for making our business lives considerably easier.

This is especially the case with Apple, who has made a statement with its iWatch. Tech Crunch suggests that those using the watches will receive “a much quicker payoff than headsets. And at least for now, they’re definitely more stylish.” While you may not have a dire need for wearable tech items at the current time, pressing travel needs and wait times on lines could have you singing a different tune sooner than you think!
