Who is at fault here?

Determinations will be made in the coming weeks as an investigation into how these aquarium fish have died, and who should be held responsible for their tragic demise.

Under investigation is Anambi, the company hired to look after the fish until the tanks were completed, and the fish ready to be transferred. Anambi is company with a collection of scientists who provide analysis and other services to companies like the Campos Grande aquarium.

A newspaper in Brazil reported earlier in the year that the main cause of the deaths of the aquarium fish could be pinned on a change in temperature which killed 80% of the total population.

Rushing to complete the aquarium on an unrealistic deadline

Brazil is attempting to mold and shape itself before the Olympic torch is lit in 2016, and this means ambitious projects that attempt to draw tourists in. Some however, will fall short full completion in the time for the Olympics, and lose out on profits attainable from the Olympic Games.

The 53 million dollar aquarium was supposed to be completed last year, but still has yet to be finished. With the death of these aquarium fish, and the subsequent investigation, things could be on hold for them until the Olympics have long come and gone.

This would have a devastating effect on the aquarium and the areas around the aquarium who have fought to complete the project. The investigation is underway, and it could be weeks before there is any sort of conclusion made about what exactly happened in the Brazilian aquarium, but with all the pressure Brazil is under, hopefully they expedite the process in order to get the aquarium open in time for tourism.
