Samsung has just released its thinnest cell phone to date, the Samsung Galaxy A8. It is currently only available in China.
THE GALAXY A8’S SPECS ARENT INCREDIBLE, BUT REALLY NICE
This phone isn’t really that incredible in terms of specs, but is definitely a great design achievement for the company. The Samsung Galaxy A8 is only 5.9 mm thin, weighs 5.3 grams, and features a bezel that weighs practically 0. This is still a great phone with a 5.7-in 1080p high definition AMOLED display, 8-core Snapdragon 615 chip, a 16-megapixel rear camera, and 2GB of RAM. This phone still has a 3,050mAh battery that is bigger than the one in the Galaxy S6. The Samsung Galaxy A8 even has other features like fingerprint sensors and a hand-wave detection that will activate a timer for your photos. This definitely isn’t the thinnest mobile phone on the market, but it does compare well with the iPhone at 6.9 mm and the Galaxy S6 is at 7.1 mm thick. This is very impressive as it has been rumored that the next iPhone will be around 0.2mm thicker than the newest iPhones currently are.
With thinner technology, it has its downfalls. Larger batteries fit better in thicker phones and have improved battery life performance in comparison to the thinner versions of phones. This new thinnest mobile craze is going to change the way that electronics are packaged to give users the best specs, batter life and design possible.
NO NEWS OF THE SAMSUNG GALAXY COMING TO EUROPE OR THE UNITED STATES
There hasn’t been any news or updates as for whether or not this design is going to be available in the United States or Europe. The Samsung Galaxy A8 is currently being sold for around $515 USD.
THE GALAXY NOTE 5’S RELEASE DATE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO AN EARLIER DATE
In addition to the release of the Samsung Galaxy A8, the Galaxy Note 5 release has been moved up from September to August. This was announced by Samsung and is thought to help Samsung get the upper hand with the hype that surrounds the new iPhones that will be released by Apple.
