A 4-Year-Old Cancer Patient Had an Unusual Wish

A four-year-old girl who was diagnosed with cancer and spent a lot of time in a hospital room had an unusual wish. Abby wanted to “marry” Matt Hickling, who is a nurse at the hospital she is treated at. Apparently, Matt took very good care of her and now the girl dreams about her wedding day.

The Best Day of Abby’s Life

The little girl told her mother about the wish. Abby’s mother sent the nurse a message, informing him that her four-year-old daughter is ecstatic with Matt after his treating her, and that she wanted to marry him.

The nurse could not resist the wish and proposal of the little girl. In 24 hours, he and the other staff members at the Melodies Center Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders organized a ceremony. He got down in his knees and put a huge smile on the sick girl’s face.

Abby Is Suffering from Leukemia

Abby Sayles is suffering from pre-b cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and she has been treated at the Albany Medical Center’s Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer.

Among children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), more than 95% attain remission, and approximately 80% of patients aged 1 to 18 years with newly diagnosed ALL are expected to survive the disease.

Abby’s Wedding Went Viral

The video of Abby‘s “wedding” shows the little girl, dressed in a white cute dress, marrying her nurse at the hospital she spends most of her time. The video has been viewed more than 2.4 million times and an impressive number of people had an opinion about this, leaving it in a comment.

There are people who approve the gesture made by Matt and the other stuff at the hospital, but there are also people who questioned this “wedding” and called the video disturbing. However, the point of everything was to make a little girl forget about her disease for a while.

Unfortunately, Abby’s cancer treatment is not over yet and she has more than one year to stay in the hospital. However, it seems that all the staff members at the Albany Medical Center’s Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer are doing their best to help her. Luckily, Abby is on her way to recovery very soon.
