Phaeton is officially killed by Volkswagen

It seems like Volkswagen just can not get out of their own way. The company is still trying to recover from the infamous diesel scandal back in September. However, now the company has announced they are killing off one of their models. This is unfortunate for them because in October they talked about how their new Phaeton model was the key to a step back up.

VOLKSWAGEN WILL END THE PHAETON MODEL

Volkswagen released news the other day that they would not be making their Phaeton sedan anymore. They stated that production for this model will end next March. However, Reuters is actually reporting that this model could still be produced by 2019. This is just another step back for the company, but they must be used to those by now. This is also coming off of having high hopes for the model.

VOLKSWAGEN HAD HIGH HOPES IN OCTOBER

Back in October, the company actually announced they were going to shift their focus to the Phaeton model. They stated that they were going to implement brand new diesel technology and plug-in hybrids. This was all going to be capped off by the company’s all-electric flagship version of the Phaeton. Now, just two months later, they are ending production of this model. So much for the high hopes, huh?

VOLKSWAGEN STILL TRYING TO RECOVER FROM INFAMOUS SCANDAL

Most car enthusiasts are well aware of the infamous scandal that took place back in September of this year. The EPA issued a violation to Volkswagen after they found that they had intentionally programmed their diesel engines to pass government emission tests. The problem is that the cars were passing the inspection for emission, but when they got on the road they were emitting up to 40 times more in real-time driving. This has led to the company taking a huge hit.

VOLKSWAGEN HAS HAD A ROUGH TIME

Volkswagen has had a rough couple of months to say the least. It all started with the diesel scandal, which was enormous, and has capped off with the death of their Phaeton model. The question that begs now is if they can ever get themselves on their feet again. Obviously, the diesel scandal has been luring over their heads the most the last couple of months. However, now things just went from bad to worse.
