The game, developed and published by Asteroid Base, is jam packed with two person adventures through a unique universe. Regardless of how much sense it makes, it’s crazy fun. The hybrid space-shooter can also be played single player, piloting around a spaceship with different stations within it.

These stations hold your weapons, engine, shields, a Yamato cannon and a map. The player or players control an avatar, and there is also an AI pet for single player mode. The goal is for players to move between stations to protect the ship from attacking enemies and keep the vessel balanced.

Gamers level up by finding gift boxes that could have gems inside, adding to their powers and enhancing them. Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime has four different campaigns, which all have four levels and a boss. The players must rescue a series of animals: bunnies, frogs, foxes, and ducks. Other campaigns revolve around getting a special engine on the ship that the players have to protect as it moves to a new place. As more creatures are rescued, the ship gets more effective and stronger.

Why is The Trippy Space Game Only Now Hitting the PS4?

The game was initially developed for a three-day game campaign, but they ended up getting addicted to the game concepts like they were drugs. The delay for a PS4 was probably due to the fact that the game was picked up for the ID@Xbox program initially, and then rolled out to other platforms.

The official release date for the Sony Playstation 4 is February 9, 2016. The game is a perfect portrayal of space, drugs and rock and roll that only the likes of Woodstock would know. In fact, if Woodstock took place in the middle of space, it’d probably look like this.
