IT’S NOT GTA 5, BUT ITS FUN AND FREE

Dubbed “Saint’s Row Undercover“,  the game was a failed idea that never got released back in 2009 for the PSP. The details of its demise are debated, but thankfully the concept was brought back to life by its developer Volition. A staff member of the company actually came across while looking through some trash in the office closet. Thanks to his questionable detective work, “Saint’s Row Undercover” has risen from the depths of non-existence and thrust into the hands of gamers everywhere. It may look like a cheap version of GTA 5 and that is because it is.

DEVELOPERS THIRST FOR PERFECTION KEPT THIS GAME IN THE DARK

Apparently, Volition developers tend to be perfectionists. Not to say that is a bad trait, but it was these qualities that kept this GTA 5 knock off in the shadows. The fact that it wasn’t the polished, glistening beacon of beauty that it could have been, means that someone was probably ashamed to present this. One shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, however. According to developers, the real meat of the game, it’s interior functionality is quite impressive. Obviously, it was good enough for someone to release it out into the wild and that should be enough to speak for itself.

WILL THIS CREATE A TREND?

That fact that you can get this game completely for free is a groundbreaking occurrence. While others are spending hundreds to immerse themselves in GTA 5, one can simply download the ISO of “Saint’s Row Undercover” to their PC or PSP. Yes, it may look a little downtrodden in comparison and perhaps it is filled will bugs and glitches. The fact is, this is history in the making. Who’s to say there aren’t a wealth of forgotten ideas in the video game graveyard waiting to be released? Let’s hope this is a growing trend and others follow suit.
