It is that time of the year again. It is time to honor all of the tremendous black people in the world and show them that they are equal. One of the best things that Google does is there Google Cultural Institute. They highlight the most important black people in history and show their respects to the black race.
Google Highlights:
ACHIEVEMENT NUMBER 1
One of the most famous men in history is Frederick Douglass, and Google highlights him in their Cultural Institute. He was born a slave, but he made it his lifelong goal to finally put an end to it. In 1838, he made a daring escape to New York City. He was born in the beginning of the 1800’s, and slavery was really evident at that time. He is a very well respected man and Google is right to highlight him.
ACHIEVEMENT NUMBER 2
Probably the most famous black man of all time is Martin Luther King Jr. There would be a rare moment where you would find someone who was not aware of him. Martin Luther King Jr. made such a huge impact on the world, and he should headline any appreciation for blacks. Google shows off several of his most famous speeches, sermons, historical artifacts, and correspondents. I am not saying that he should be the only black person to be praised, but he should definitely be the first one everytime.
ACHIEVEMENT NUMBER 3
The High Museum of Art, in Atlanta, has some absolutely astonishing Civil Rights photography. When you are searching them on the Google Cultural Institute, you will see some great photos. One, in particular, is of a group of black men, and they have a sign that says “I am a Man”. That is a very powerful message, and it makes you feel for those people back in the day. Make sure to check out some of the photos because they are very eye opening.
