3 Reasons Why Twitch Deserves More Respect Than YouTube Clapway

Both Twitch and YouTube have been major players in the online world of entertainment.

They both deserve respect, but I think that Twitch should get a little more respect than YouTube. This is not because I think the latter is awful, but it is due to how great the people at Twitch are. Here are the top three reasons why I believe this, and if you disagree then it’s perfectly fine.

3 Reasons Why Twitch Deserves More Respect Than YouTube Clapway

FIRST REASON: THE MONEY THE COMPANY RAISED FOR CHARITIES

Twitch recently decided to release some of their statistics for the 2015 fiscal year. One of the more compelling stats they shared was how much money they raised for over 55 charities. They noted how they helped streamers raise $17.4 million, and that this was for the 55 charities mentioned earlier. This is really a terrific show of class by them.

SECOND REASON: YOUTUBE BASICALLY COPIED THEM

Let’s face it, last year YouTube practically copied verbatim what Twitch did. They launched their gaming service, and its purpose was to make the most popular streaming site. Does this sound a little familiar, because it should. Twitch is well known for their streaming service, and I guess YouTube become jealous of them.

THIRD REASON: USERS WATCH THEIR CONTENT LONGER

This last reason is one that the company themselves argue. Even though users on YouTube watch a lot of their content, Twitch users watch content longer than they do. Per the data by comScore, they average 421,6 minutes per viewer, and YouTube sees around 291 minutes per viewer. This is over 100 minutes of time, and that will total up very quickly. Again, these reasons were not told to say that YouTube is bad. As a matter of fact, I think they are quite exceptional. This was only to prove why Twitch deserves more respect than them, but both of these services are extremely fun to use.
