Yahoo and Outlook Got the Final Smack on the Face from Gmail  Clapway

It’s been a long and steady decline for Yahoo and Outlook in terms of their email service and a recent development by Google will not be helping their cause. Gmail has a new feature called “Gmailify” that will allow anyone to take advantage of its best features, regardless of email provider.

KEEP YAHOO AND OUTLOOK WHILE USING GMAIL FEATURES

Since the beginning of last year, Google allowed users to manage their non-Gmail accounts through Google’s Android app. Building off this concept, Google is taking it even further. Users with other email providers like Yahoo or Outlook can now take advantage of some features like Google Now integrations, spam protection, inbox organization and more. Keep your @Yahoo, your @Outlook or whatever else, because these accounts can now be managed as if they were apart of Google’s own servers.

GMAILIFY IS STUPIDELY EASY TO SET UP

If you’re accessing your Yahoo or Outlook accounts through the Gmail app, it is insanely easy to Gmailify your life. Simply open the apps settings, tap on the account you want to link and choose “Link Account”. Now all the expanded features of Gmail can be yours to use. Organize your emails by type, search through your Outlook or Yahoo accounts using Google’s advanced search options have access to Google Now. Any of Gmail’s best features can now be universally appreciated.

THE COMPETITION RESPONDS

Google’s concept to cater to its users is hardly revolutionary. It just happens to work the best. This past December, Yahoo attempted a similar feat by announcing their mobile app would allow users to manage their Gmail account while giving them access to other features. Even Outlook developed a tool that would aid users in making the switch to Microsoft email. Despite these efforts, Gmailify has garnered a high amount of media attention. While Gmailify only supports a limited amount of providers, it has plans to greatly expand in the near future.
