Amazon is taking the next step from smart phone to smart home.Their newest Alexa developments aim to make your life frighteningly easy. With improvements in AI coming from Google, Facebook and others, it’s only a matter of time before this technology creeps its way into all facets of our life.

AMAZON INTRODUCES TWO NEW MEMBERS TO ECHO FAMILY

Due to the huge success of Amazon’s voice-operated Echo, they are going to expand the family with two new products. Amazon Tap is a portable version of Echo while Echo Dot is an even tinier version. of that. Tap is pretty self-explanatory in its functions. Users simply “tap” the microphone and ask it questions. Users can order pizza, play music, hail an Uber or ask philosophical questions. For those too cheap to buy Echo or Tap, there’s the Dot. It’s half the price and much smaller. Users can place several Dots all around the house to act as voice commands. Think about dimming the lights, shutting off the TV or cranking up the thermostat in your sister’s room in the dead of summer. This is all done without lifting a finger.

GOOGLE WILL READ YOUR EMAIL TO YOU

Amazon is far from the only company involved in the AI race. Google’s email tool allows you to have your very own assistant even though you’re too cheap or not important enough to get one. It can reply to messages on its own by reading your emails. Somehow, it comprehends them and can generate an appropriate response. Google researchers dubbed the program Smart Reply. Its intention is to save time for people reading through their various email accounts. It’s brilliant to put AI in control like this, but sometimes I swear Google has never seen Terminator or 2001: A Space Odyssey.

AI SUCCESS SHOWS WE’RE READY TO GET LAZIER

It wasn’t an easy decision by far, but the human race has finally come to a conclusion. We want to get lazier. Google and Amazon are releasing AI that is helping us with the most mundane tasks around. We’re eating it up too. Pushing buttons and reading words is but the work of measly peasants now. We mustn’t be bothered by such asinine tasks. It’s only a matter of time before a group of radical liberals starts a revolution to go back to nature. Some will go, but they’ll fail. Meanwhile, the rest of us will sit around letting AI do our work and eventually take over.
