Dentists Could Cease to Exist Soon; New Pill prevents cavities Clapway

Some things seem too good to be true. For example, we may never need dentists ever again. It’s far from a fantasy. Scientists at the University of Florida have identified a new probiotic pill could be used to prevent dental cavities in the future.

NEW BACTERIA TURNED INTO ANTI-CAVITY PILL

Researchers have identified a new bacteria that breaks down tough substances in the mouth. It also can control other bacteria that can lead to cavities. This, in turn, will help prevent them. As we all learned back in elementary school, bacteria on the teeth can build up to form plaque. Plaque is that nasty acid that breaks your teeth down. Kids hate it but dentists love it. The more plaque there is, the more acidity is in your mouth. More acidity means more cavities and ultimately, more trips to the dentists.

PROBIOTIC FOR YOUR MOUTH MAKES DENTISTS USELESS

Probiotics in our stomach are very similar to this new pill for our mouth. Probiotics break down bacteria in the gut and promote health. With the new pill, good bacteria are used to promote dental health. Populating the patient with these beneficial organisms, will decrease acidity, decrease plaque and of course, eliminate dentists completely.

GENETICS COULD PLAY IMPORTANT PART IN DENTAL HEALTH

One other interesting aspect that doctors found in the study was an issue of genetics. Research in the past has found that two sections in your mouth, the urea and arginine are broken down. That’s not the interesting part. The interesting part is that certain people are better at breaking down these compounds than others. Thus, relating in fewer cavities. These people are the worst enemies of dentists due to their infrequent trips but they hold the key to healthy mouths for all. By using the people who have naturally healthier mouths, doctors can analyze their bacteria. If a common trend is shown that those with healthy teeth have more of a certain type of bacteria, than scientists can use this data to prevent the formation of cavities and create this probiotic pill.  Now don’t go using Dr. Pepper as mouthwash just yet. The pill is still in the early stages. Besides, it never hurts to brush twice a day and floss everyone.
