Did you catch that ludicrous display the other night? No, I’m not talking about Colchester dominating Doncaster 4-1, but of course, the Tesla Model S. Those who own the P90D can now upgrade it to Ludicrous Mode for a small fee. For those wondering what the heck is going on, here are 5 things you didn’t know about Ludicrous Mode, the P90D or English Football leagues.
1. YOU CAN BOOST TESLA ACCELERATION TIME
Ludicrous Mode isn’t just a cool name. It actually has a function. With the added feature, you can boost your Tesla Model S to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, all with the touch of a button. It was introduced on the P90D the last summer, but now the upgrade is available.
2. UPGRADE MODEL S FOR $10,000
Ludicrous Mode was previously limited to the P85D, but now Model S P90D drivers have the option of adding some new gear. For a small fee of $10,000 and installation costs, drivers can get the full Ludicrous upgrade.
3. SPACE GRADE MATERIAL IN UPGRADE
Ludicrous Mode makes two major changes of interest. For one, the standard fuse on the Model S will be replaced with an advanced smart fuse. In addition to that, the main pack contactor will instead use Inconel instead of steel. Inconel is a space-grade superalloy built by SpaceX that is best for use in extreme temperatures. Essentially, your car will be primed for space travel now.
4. AUSTRALIANS ARE LEFT OUT
Australians often get the shaft when it comes to cool U.S cars and the Tesla P90D isn’t any exception. Maybe if you guys weren’t so isolated the U.S could help you out more. Unfortunately, that’s not the case and Tesla Australia says it has no plans to offer Ludicrous Mode.
5. PEOPLE WILL KNOW YOU GOT THE UPGRADE
For many owners of the Model S, status is important to them. Surely, if you pay the $10,000 for an upgrade like Ludicrous Mode, you’ll want people to know. Thankfully, Tesla has that covered. The P90D will be underlined with these upgraded editions to prove to everyone that your ride is superior. Of course, for the many who won;t notice the underline, you’ll clearly have to explain that to them. You may come across as an arrogant jerk, but at least, they will know.
