Sony PlayStation VR: 5 Things You Should Know

Sony PlayStation VR: 5 Things You Should Know Clapway

Unless you have been living in your bunker awaiting the zombie apocalypse the last couple of months, you know about the PlayStation VR. This is the latest “console” from Sony, and I say console because its retail price is as much as one. While Sony fans wait around patiently for the eventual release of the PlayStation VR, here are five noteworthy things to know about it.

1. THE SPECS ARE IMPRESSIVE

If there is one thing that can be rest assured about the PlayStation VR, it is that it will have breathtaking quality. Sony will have this headset running at 120 frames per second, and it is also equipped with a 1920 x 1080 OLED screen. The PlayStation VR is then topped off with a 90/120hz refresh rate.

2. ONLY ONE VR CAN BE USED ON A PS4

The one true disappointment of the PlayStation VR is the fact that only one of them can be played on a PS4 at a time. So, this completely eliminates the possibility of two people using a virtual reality headset at the same time. Multiplayer is still accessible, but the other players will have to use standard controllers.

3. SONY PLAYSTATION VR DOES REQUIRE A PLAYSTATION CAMERA

A PlayStation camera is indeed required to make the VR headset function. However, for whatever reason this is not included with the VR itself, and if you don’t have it you are going to have to buy it separately. Sony states that many people already own them, but I digress. So, if you can do the math, this means that the VR can actually cost you $460.

4. IT DOESN’T TAKE UP ALL OF YOUR VISION

It seems clear that Sony wants to put all of the focus directly in front of you. This virtual reality headset is not going to completely take away your vision, and it makes it easier to naturally turn you head when you have it on.

5. IT DOES COME WITH HEADPHONES

This may not seem like a big deal because many people already have headphones, but the VR will come with them. Of course, Sony still gives you the option to use your own if you so choose to. This is really a win-win because if you already have headphones you can use them with the PlayStation VR, and if you don’t then you can use the ones included.
