Apple iPhone 6S New Feature Disappointed Fans

Apple iPhone 6S New Feature Disappointed Fans Clapway

It seems that Apple fanboys don’t mindlessly lap up everything after all. The iPhone’s anticipated addition for the 6S was met with some controversy and has proven to be a rare bout of bad news for the popular smartphone.

Apple iPHONE 6S 3D TOUCH UNDERWHELMS

The pressure sensitive 3D touch screen was advertised as a groundbreaking way to interact with your iPhone. It’s been about seventh months since the announcement and still, opinions on the feature aren’t exactly positive. Seeing as Apple news is hardly flooded with fan criticism, this comes as a surprise. The 3D touch actions of the iPhone apparently do not add much value to the device. It’s mostly used to reveal content in an app or tapping to reveal content. This doesn’t different from the smartphones previous methodology.

CRITICS CALL 3D TOUCH A GIMMICK

Even some  of the more well known and pro-Apple writers out there don’t agree with the feature. For example, the best part of the “Peek and Pop” addition is to let you preview content from a link in a pop-up window. Reviewers are not impressed and think it’s a gimmicky demo feature. In theory, it’s a good idea. After all, shortcuts are great but it only saves one or two clicks. It doesn’t really add any significant advantage to the iPhone and if these are the types of improvements Apple is proud of, that can be a bit concerning.

WILL 3D TOUCH GAIN STEAM?

3D touch had the support of many big name apps like Instagram, Facebook, and Yelp. Still, the feature just hasn’t taken off yet. Fans and developers alike don’t seem to share the same enthusiasm as Apple does. Perhaps we will see 3D Touch improve as Apple rolls it out on the rest of its devices. This might open up the door for it to become more useful. For the time being, though, it’s nothing more than a mediocre addition to the iPhone that never needed to be made in the first place. With the latest Apple smartphone right around the corner, let’s hope the company isn’t losing its creative stream.
