Medical Marijuana to Affect Sperm and DNA; What about Cocaine? Clapway

Yet another positive discovery has been made in regards to medical reefer. Research shows that a ‘marijuana receptor’ might affect DNA and sperm. Not only does this show the plant can affect fertility in males, but also may offer up a solution for treating infertility. Will a similar study be conducted about cocaine? One can only hope.

MARIJUANA HELPS CREATE SPERM AND CHANGE DNA

A recent report shows that a certain receptor in marijuana can help regulate the creation of sperm. “CB2” as they are calling it, can help show evidence that marijuana changes male DNA. The study also showed the drug can a help with infertility. This marijuana study was made when researchers treated three groups of mice with three different agents for 14-21 days.

THREE STONED MICE

The first group of mice was treated with a unique activator of the CB2 receptor. The second group was given a unique inhibitor of the same thing. The unfortunate third group was just given a saline solution to serve as a control group. After some time, an interesting discovery was made about the first two groups. No, they did have an increased desire to eat Doritos. Their sperm, however, was affected. The first group with the activator showed that sperm generation accelerated while the group with the inhibitor showed that generation slows down. Essentially, this means that one would need a nice balance of both receptors to get ideal sperm generation. As doctors use marijuana to experiment with our DNA, is there any possibility that cocaine will be next?

COCAINE IS BAD MKAY?

You don’t need to be a doctor to know that cocaine is bad , but here is some evidence to support that anyway. As you may know, cocaine can cause erectile dysfunction. Besides that, it does have a negative effect on your reproductive system. Using animal trials, researchers found that cocaine may transmit from a male  to the female egg. The effects of this are still uncertain, but theories suggest it could lead to early miscarriage. In addition to that unfortunate side effect, coke is also said to have an effect on DNA. Apparently, just one exposure to coke can induce DNA damage in the brain and organ. This experiment was tested back in 2011 by a University of Sao Paulo Brazil. The moral of the story here kids, is drugs are bad. Stay in school and read books.
