Medical Marijuana Designed for Instagram; What About LSD? Clapway

A marijuana study by Aizman Law Firm rated US cities that have the most marijuana Instagram posts. The hashtags examined in the study for Instagram photos were #weed, #marijuana, #420, and #maryjane. The Aizman Law Firm study found a few interesting details regarding the top 10 cities. All located in various corners of the country. But what about LSD? Could there be an LSD Instagram study worth doing? Despite the drugs illegal status.

The Top 10 Marijuana Instagram Posts by City

Interestingly, marijuana free Denver was ranked lower than New York. New York placed 2nd with Denver taking the #3 spot. This could be the result of a population difference. Yet other cities ranked in the study are also surprising. California had three cities placing in the Instagram study. Los Angeles was #1 to no one’s surprise. The other two California cities include #5 San Francisco, and #9 San Diego. Portland, Oregon was ranked #4, Edgewater, New Jersey #6, Spring Valley, Texas #7, Seattle, Washington #8, and Glendale, Arizona was ranked last at #10.

Marijuana Industry Almost Worth the Same as Instagram

As marijuana becomes legal in states across the US, the taboo of talking about the drug diminishes. California is estimated to reach up to $1.2 billion in marijuana sales. New York is the new medical marijuana kid on the block. Yet the city is estimated to gross up to $15 million in 2016. Marijuana has been legal both medically and for recreation use in Denver for quite some time. This may be the reason for less Instagram traffic relating to marijuana. It may simply be old news for those living in Denver. Portland, Oregon recently received legal status for recreational use. The 2016 estimates for marijuana sales in Oregon are in upwards of $220 million. A repeat Instagram study may find Portland closer to the top spot in 2017.

Where Does LSD Rank?

It may be a long while before LSD is even considered for legal status. The popular psychedelic drug in the 1960s and 1970s might be less popular today. The drug market has new and exciting drugs for consumers to enjoy these days. Just like any good product, it has evolved for consumer satisfaction. The days of dropping LSD in the desert like Jim Morrison have been replaced. Now MDMA and electronic dance music are more profitable. A future LSD ranking by city would be certainly interesting and entertaining. But browsing Instagram while on LSD may not be the grooviest experience.
