Youtube is full of Piracy and Porn; Google Fans are Disappointed  Clapway

The days of YouTube’s swashbuckling, free love having habits look to be numbered. The video sharing site has come under intense pressure from music labels and other corporations for the massive amount of piracy and porn linked to the site. They are doing their best to defend the criticism, but Google users may need to find a new outlet for free content.

YOUTUBE DEFENDS ITSELF OVER PIRACY ALLEGATIONS

This is just the latest front in the war between YouTube and the music industry. At a time when the site is preparing to work out new licensing deals, the criticism is hardly convenient. The source of the comments revolved around YouTube’s Content ID. According to opposing forces, Content ID does not do a very good job in identifying infringement in user-uploaded videos. This has resulted in an influx of free music and porn available on the site. As usual, when people lose money, emotions run high.

GOOGLE MAKES DEFENCE IN PUBLIC

According to Universal, YouTube’s Content ID fails to identify about 40% of the labels compositions. To combat this, Universal claims they are wasting hundreds of thousands by paying a third-party firm to identify said content. Sony has also many a similar claim saying they have lost $7.7 million dollars in revenue. Google, on the other hand, is making their defence public. They claim YouTubes content ID rarely makes any matching mistake. Beyond that, Google has paid billions to the music industry as well as have productive meetings with various levels regarding songwriter visibility on the site. Essentially, the music industry wants Google and it’s video service to be stripped of its safe harbour protection. They see it as unfair leverage. For those worrying if this means no more free pornography and music, don’t lose any sleep over it.

FREE PORN IS HERE TO STAY

Free porn has always been available and it will continue to be available as long as people are interested. It hardly seems that porn popularity will decrease in the coming year so expect it to remain. Finding porn on Youtube may become more difficult, but a simple Google search can get you what you want. Just because Napster died all those years ago, does that mean one can’t pirate music? Of course not. It’s still illegal, but someone will always pick up the slack if a site goes down. So put down the pitchforks everyone, free music, and pornography is here to stay.
