Google is still trying to somehow find a way to beat Facebook Messenger. The good news for Google is that they may have just found their answer. The company is currently developing its new application, Google Chat App. This app is going to be incorporating artificial intelligence and chat robots. These two aspects could be what Google needs to finally destroy Facebook Messenger, but it won’t be easy.
THE NEW GOOGLE CHAT APP
As mentioned earlier, this app is going to use artificial intelligence. All the user will have to do is say “OK Google”, and then several questions can be answered. It does not end there though as users will be able to chat with their friends with this app. Lastly, this app will allow users to post questions and search for queries just like they would do when using Google Search.
SOME OF THE QUESTIONS YOU CAN ASK GOOGLE CHAT APP
Obviously, this new Google Chat App is not going to be able to answer every question you ask. However, it does answer a wide range of them. Some of the general questions it will answer are how old someone is, where someone was born, word definitions, specific photos, math equations, upcoming weather, and what time it is. You can also ask it to set alarms, timers, scheduling, and various other reminders. This is just the tip of the iceberg because there are many other questions and tasks you can ask the Google Chat App to do. The thing to do is to experiment with the app and see what you come up with.
WHY THE GOOGLE CHAT APP COULD DESTROY FACEBOOK MESSENGER
The reason why this new app from Google could end up destroying Facebook Messenger is very simple. The implementation of artificial intelligence and chat robots gives the Google Chat App something that Facebook Messenger does not have. This will be a huge selling point and should draw more people to the new app. However, it will not be easy for this new app to destroy Facebook Messenger.
FACEBOOK MESSENGER IS STILL ONE OF THE TWO POWERHOUSES
Right now there are two big powerhouses when it comes to messaging apps. Those two would be WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. The latter, as of August 2015, had the second most monthly active users of 700 million. So, it would be a tall task for Google’s new app to compete with it, but artificial intelligence might solely do it.
