Youtube ‘Killed’ Thai Woman on Camera; Fans Are Happy Clapway

For those that wanting a bit more spice to their life, look no further than this YouTube video. Theories of its origin and intentions are all over the place but it’s safe to say, seeing a Thai woman rot away before your eyes is an unsettling experience.

YOUTUBE GOES OFF THE DEEP END

A little artistic expression never hurt anyone but how much is too much? Certainly YouTube doesn’t know the answer to this question. In a video entitled “As Long as the Last Breath” viewers get taken through a heart-wrenching journey of life, death, and rebirth. Surely, an entire semester of a philosophy course could be based off this video but that doesn’t make it any easier to watch. Couldn’t the same message be delivered in a less disturbing fashion? Definitely. However, 5 million viewers disagree.

GROSS VIDEOS ARE ADDICTING

Nobody wants to see a Thai woman rot away on the internet, yet the millions of viewers say otherwise. The internet allows us to look up gross videos like this without an effort. It’s not all just kittens and narwhals. The dark side of YouTube has endless videos of pimple popping, cyst draining, bone breaking entertainment that keeps us on the verge of vomiting. Despite how gross this may be, we keep coming back. Perhaps society is spiraling out of control into a dark and twisted demise. On the other hand, there may be a scientific explanation for our strange fetishes.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND DISGUST

Disgust can be quite beneficial to humans. The evolutionary idea behind it is that disgust keeps us safe. It’s a cue for us to spit out that sour milk or stay away from Andy who has the stomach flu. Still, it’s strange that we still like disgusting things. YouTube is proof of that. According to some studies, our addiction to disgust is akin to fear. Just like people stand in line for hours to risk their lives on a rollercoaster, millions will take to YouTube’s weirdest corners and engage in disgust. The whole point is to freak yourself out in a relatively safe environment. Of course, these videos are not for everyone but putting an explanation behind it makes the whole thing seem a bit more normal.
