An external battery charger seems to be a must have these days considering how much time we actually spend on our phones. For the most part these chargers are clumsily thrown into our bags, only to be forgotten until they are needed. The team at Lepow, however, is looking to change that by designing the Poki Ultra-Slim Battery Pack, an attractive external battery charger that works with most mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets.
THE POKI REINVENTS THE EXTERNAL BATTERY CHARGER
The Poki refreshes people’s ideas of what a portable charger should look like, transforming a piece of technology that is usually regarded as insignificant into something “emotional and valuable.” First and foremost, the thin and compact charger is very different in shape when compared to the rectangular products already out on the market. Its curved sides, matte surface and refreshing color (mint green, yellow and white) also make it unique and aesthetically pleasing.
As with most Lepow portable batteries, the Poki is minimalist in style. It doesn’t have any button controls and only has one input port and on USB output port. On a full charge, which takes 5-6 hours, the Poki can charge an iPhone 6 at least 2.5 times, a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 at least 1.2 times and a Galaxy S5 1.5 times. It will also take anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours to fully charge a device, depending on the model. To check the battery power level, users simply have to swipe their finger along the side of the device, which features a LED strip that indicates the battery level (there are 10 bars, each represent 10% of battery).
The power source automatically initiates when plugged into a device and will also turn off once it is done charging. In terms of size, the Poki measures only 5.0 x 2.5 x 0.5 inches and weighs 5 oz., making it a highly portable and a pocketable device.
