Where would we be without the convenience of social media? No, seriously, where would we be? The majority of our population gets their news from social media and communicates with one another through Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat.
I can’t even remember what times were like before Myspace was invented. The struggle was real for those who never got the chance to experience the innovation of social media. To get a better look at the struggle, here are five ways we connected before social media existed:
1. I bet the Tin Can Telephone was a luxury to have way back then. It would definitely get us nowhere now.
2. Have an emergency? Just shoot your flare gun. I’m sure someone will find you…eventually.
3. Don’t let the teacher catch you passing notes. You don’t want her to read out loud, how much you “really really really” like Jessica.
4. Do you remember that thing people used to do before texting? I think it was called talking.
5. Before social media existed, people read the newspaper to stay informed. I’m pretty sure they still print those. Someone must be buying them.
