These Photos Show Butterflies Drinking Tears From Turtles

What you see below are images of Julia Butterflies (Dryas iulia) drinking the tears of turtles and alligators. This event is very rare to see in nature, but astounding nonetheless. Butterflies practice lachryphagy (“tear-feeding”) to get nutrition, sodium and minerals, which are needed for metabolism and egg production.
