Mazda releases two concepts for new models at the 2015 SEMA Show that pose a minimalist approach, and it’s sure to make them stand out. Both concepts are based on the 2016 MC-5, though slimmed down for added fun. Both were built in the US, product of collaborations with several aftermarket suppliers, and they’re set to prove the uniqueness that Mazda can bring to the table.

The first model is the silver Mazda Spyder, which comes with carbon-fibre body kit and grille. It has adjustable coilovers, four piston Brembo froont brak callipers on ventilated disks, and 225/45 Yokohama Advan AO48 rubber on 17 inch custom Advan Racing RS II alloys with 42mm offset. The folding roof has been swapped out for a lightweight bikini one, making it slightly lighter than the MX-5.

The Mazda Speedster comes in blue, and it really milks the minimalist concept. There’s no roof or windshield, just a deflector cowl. The doors are carbon dibre as well, and it has specially designed seats trimmed in black alcantara. This model is 118kg lighter than the standard Mazda MX5.

With both of these cars, Mazda is sure to at least leave a formidable mark on the car show, and with the amount of attention they’re garnering, the carmaker is only proving that sometimes the bare minimum is all people want.
