The University of Missouri is facing a great injustice that has resulted in protests, boycotts on sports, and even a hunger strike. The students of color and their allies are looking for justice, as they will no longer tolerate racial slurs or discrimination while the school ignore them. This week marked one more altercation where students are referred to with unspeakable words, labeled terrorists or misgendered just because of the color of their skin, and now the students will not rest until Timothy M. Wolfe, University President, steps down from his position.
Why exactly is the school and part of its privileged community behaving like a bunch of Cro-Magnons? It seems Darwinism was an absolute failure in the family lines of the people involved, especially President Wolfe, who conducts an environment where spitting at one another is considered a solid form of communication and swastikas drawn with feces is no big deal and apparently neither is being called the n-word, being discriminated on for wearing a hijab or identifying with a different gender. While the privileged at the University of Missouri like to think of themselves higher, better than others, this behavior is primitive but it’s still supported by the school officials? This should prove that evolution is selective, surely only the best individuals carry the best characteristics of the human race, and it is clear that these instigators are excluded from this pool of people.
Professors at the University of Missouri claim that the students on strike, the University’s football team among them, are winning, but the University’s President refuses to acknowledge the calls to step down from his position. Jonathan Butler, who was the principal victim of racism and segregation, stands with his team, his fellow students and some of the school’s staff because change is needed.
