With the addition of Linkle to Hyrule Warriors, maybe the new Legend of Zelda Wii U will also include a character for girls. At the most recent Nintendo Direct meeting, Nintendo revealed 14 seconds of new Legend of Zelda Wii, and despite being uneventful, it tells us that Nintendo is being almost too tight-lipped about the upcoming game.

Legend of Zelda Wii U Loosely Confirmed for 2016

The Legend of Zelda Wii U has been mildly confirmed for 2016, though it was supposed to launch in time for this years’ holiday season. There’s no telling if the game will be delayed again, which has caused a lot of speculation from the community.

Will the New Legend of Zelda Wii U Include More Playable Characters?

As the roster for Hyrule Warriors gets extended, perhaps what’s taking so long for the Legend of Zelda Wii U is just that. Linkle is the first playable character to directly resemble the saga’s loved main character Link, so perhaps players will be able to lead the open-world story as either one.

This would make for an interesting change to the saga. The new footage of Legend of Zelda Wii U only shows Link riding Epon and a panoramic display of the new Hyrule that Link is set to explore, but there has been no other announcements on the game.

Twilight Princess Comes Back in HD, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks Come to the Wii U eShop

Alongside the Legend of Zelda Wii U and Linkle announcements, Nintendo also revealed that 3DS games Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass will be launching on the Wii U eShop.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will be released on Wii U on March 4th, and it comes with improved graphics, new gameplay mechanics and a few other gimmicks.
