The 2014 Ford Escape model sold over 300,000 units in the year of its release, and it’s set to break that record with the 2017 Ford Escape model. The Ford Focus, which has also been in the higher ranks of popularity of the Ford car roster, is no quite measuring up to it’s same-brand competitor.

The 2017 Ford Escape Brings New Technology and Gimmicks

The 2017 Ford Escape comes with Ford’s new crossover features, with a hexagonal grille with active grille shutters to economize fuel, better headlights with projectors, HID lights and LED taillights. The car comes in Lighting Blue, Canyon Ridge and White Gold.

The interior of the car has improved switchgear, with a new cup holder design and a larger armrest. The 2017 Ford Escape also comes with a switch to an electronic parking brake and a new climate control interface. The 2017 Ford Escape comes with new engine options in addition to the basic 2.5 liter four cylinder engine: a standard turbocharged 1.5 liter and a four cylinder EcoBoost engine for added power. There’s no word on the pricing for this vehicle or when it will become available.

Ford Focus: What Gives?

The Ford Focus is the other popular Ford model currently on the market. It has received positive reviews, both in the sedan and hatchback versions. It’s yet to be seen how it will perform opposite the 2017 Ford Escape.
