The Facebook safety check tool has been activated for the second time in five days, this time in Nigeria. A bomb blast in the city of Yola has killed 2 people, and Facebook has promptly activated the tool to ensure safety between Nigerian users.

These attacks are rumored to be caused by the terrorist group Boko Haram, and surely in order to counter the criticism that the social networking site has received for activating the Facebook safety check took for Paris and not for Beirut.
The blast is reported to have killed 32 but injured many more, so Facebook deployed its safety check tool so that users can alert one another of their safety in the northeastern region of Nigeria. Zuckerberg made a statement about the Facebook safety check tool activation, saying that Facebook hopes to use its safety check tool as often as needed in the future, and the company is currently working to specify when and under what circumstances the Facebook safety check tool will be activated.
Facebook Safety Check Could be Activated in Russia Next
In light of the recent Russian plane incident over the Sinai, which all killed 224 people on board via what is currently reported to have been a can bomb, there is a chance that the Facebook safety check tool may be activated there next. The attack has since then been claimed by ISIS as their doing, and Russia has taken immediate action against the Islamic State.
