GameStop is Disappointed About Star Wars: Battlefront Failure

Star Wars is one of the most polarizing and star-studded franchises that has ever been seen in the world. So there is no surprise that Star Wars: Battlefront is a game that gets talked about a lot. However, GameStop has recently stated that this game has failed to reach its sales targets. This has led Electronic Arts, the publisher of this game, to respond to GameStop’s statement.

EA DOES NOT AGREE WITH GAMESTOP ABOUT STAR WARS: BATTLEFRONT

It did not take long for EA to respond to this and respond they did. EA’s chief operating officer, Peter Moore, stated that this game has absolutely no weaknesses. Moore also denied the fact that this game was failing to meet sales. He stated that their target of 13 million games sold for the fiscal year is still on point. He also mentioned that they were a little bit surprised to hear about GameStop’s earning statistics. GameStop did mention, however, that they do believe that EA will achieve their fiscal year target of Star Wars: Battlefront.

EA IS CONFIDENT ABOUT STAR WARS: BATTLEFRONT

Moore and the staff of EA do not appear to be worried about this game. Moore explained that one of the biggest reasons they are positive is due to the new Star Wars movie coming out this month. He seemed to keep reiterating the fact that the company has no worries moving forward. The new Star Wars movie should no doubt help out the sales of Battlefront as the new movie has many buzzed.

WILL STAR WARS: BATTLEFRONT END UP FLOPPING?

GameStop mentioned that this game was one of the three biggest games to underperform in their latest quarter. Once the Star Wars movie officially hits theaters, it can then be assessed whether or not Battlefront has a chance to meet the ultimate sales goal of EA. If it does not, then EA will have to come up with a new strategy to try to have Star Wars: Battlefront meet their demand.
