The time for virtual reality in video games is here. Sony has already announced that they are making their PlayStation VR. Virtual reality is the next step for several companies, and Sony is no exception. When the company first announced the VR, then known simply as Project Morpheus, the president said just that and that this is the future of games.
THE PLAYSTATION VR IS THE FUTURE
Sony has scheduled that this PlayStation VR will be out sometime in 2016, but they have not specifically said when. Sony states that 17 games will be previewed for the VR at PlayStation Experience 2015, which is actually taking place as we speak. Sony Experience will certainly be the event to check out for finding even more information about this VR. Although, Sony does not seem like they will leak what the price will be or if they will notify the public of the release date.
THE PLAYSTATION VR TIED TO THE PS4
The even better thing about the PlayStation VR is the fact that it will be tied into the PS4. This should lead to this device gaining more steam and success. Another good thing for Sony is that if this device did happen to flop for whatever reason, they still should be fine. With the PS4 clearly ahead of Xbox and Nintendo, as far as sales go, seeing their new VR flop would not be the end of the world. However, if it turns out to be successful and sells well, then Sony could run away from the other gaming companies.
