David Sirland, the producer of Battlefield 4, had some very cool details to say on this revelation. Sirland stated that they wanted a throwback map that was very large in scale. He said that Dragon Valley fits the void perfectly. He also said that to recreate it they basically had to go through the original map multiple times. The main thing is they did not want to miss any aspects that made the original Dragon Valley great. Sirland said that the main advance to Dragon Valley is the visuals of the environment. This is no surprise with how advanced and detailed games have become.

BATTLEFIELD 2 DRAGON VALLEY REMASTER TIME AND CHALLENGES

Sirland mentioned how this was an extremely long process to achieve. He stated that because this was a remastered version of an old map it took even longer than usual. He said it took the development team around 4 months to complete. Sirland mentioned how this process was not a walk in the park either. He stated that the hardest part for their team was making the map perform. He said they were really testing the limits of the map and even went overboard at times.
