WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE FRUGAL?

For anyone who does not know what a frugal person is, pay attention. They are basically people who are penny pinchers. This is meaning that they do not like to spend money and save on everything. You will not see frugal people mindlessly shopping or wasting their money. Most of these people will cook from scratch, save gas and not leave their house, and anything else they can do to save as much money as possible. This makes them a perfect match with Subaru, Toyota, and Lexus.

FRUGAL PEOPLE, SUBARU, TOYOTA, AND LEXUS MAKE PERFECT MATCH

Subaru, Toyota, and Lexus certainly just gained their number one fans. Not only those brands being the one’s with the best resale value, but Kelley also gave some numbers on how much could be saved. Kelley Blue Book’s report states that an average car model for the 2016 year would retain about 35 percent of its original retail value. However, the report also said that the cars that landed in the top ten of their list could retain as much as 62 percent of its original value. If patient enough, frugal people could accomplish their mission and save a lot of money on a fairly new model.

FRUGAL PEOPLE DO HAVE TO KEEP THIS IN MIND

The executive editorial director of Kelly Blue Book, Jack Nerad, stated how where you are will factor in resale value on a car. He mentions how further south, dark colored cars may not have a good resale value. Another example he provides is how a two-wheel drive would not have a very good resale value in the colder regions. This is important to keep in mind for frugal people as they are looking to save every penny.

KELLEY OFFERS SOME POINTERS FOR RESALE VALUE

Kelley Blue Book also offered some factors for consumers to look for when selling their vehicles. Fuel economy and original price are two that they mention. However, the biggest one is depreciation of your vehicle. Within the first five years or so how bad did your vehicle depreciate is the most important aspect Kelly Blue Book stated.
