Xbox One servers were down for a while on Wednesday, and Snoop Dogg took to Instagram to diss Bill Gates, Microsoft and the Xbox One. The temporary outage fueled the rage of many.
Snoop Dogg Goes to Instagram to Rant
The short video has him ranting about the server being down for over seven hours. He even threatened Bill Gates himself that he would switch to the PlayStation 4 if the man didn’t take care of the problem. The PlayStation Network is no stranger to server outages, but it’s important for Xbox to remain popular with celebrities if they hope to ever outsell the PS4.
Snoop Dogg: ‘What the F*** Is You Doing, Bill Gates?’
The video, while not super aggressive in tone, was very aggressive verbally. The rapper urged Bill Gates, who is the founder, advisor and a board member at Microsoft, to get to the root of the problem. In the end, the issue wasn’t fixed, and seven hours later, the rapper reposted the video.
Other Celebrities Like Lil Wayne Could Also Quit
Microsoft made a single announcement on the outage, and it was to declare the server issue resolved. Still, taking so long to fix this kind of issue and causing this reaction can impact Microsoft negatively. Even other noted gamer celebrities like Lil Wayne could give the company bad rep, and bad sales.
Will Snoop Switch to the PS4?
Regardless of whether or not Snoop decides to switch to the PlayStation 4, his video can cause Microsoft a lot of harm. The company hasn’t been doing well in shaping up to Sony with their video game console. They need all of the positive representation they can get. Snoop Dogg is a man with a lot of hype on social media platforms. Making him angry is probably not something Microsoft wants.
It’d be no surprise if Snoop makes a follow-up video on Instagram after Microsoft sends him some kind of ‘sorry we screwed up’ presents in the form of some awesome merchandise. After all, business is mostly about marketing and advertising. Hopefully, Microsoft can find a way to use this to their advantage and get people excited about the Xbox. This isn’t the kind of kick off to 2016 that the company needs, especially when there are so many awesome things ahead for the Xbox console.
