Yahoo Becomes a Social Media Site Just like Facebook or Twitter Clapway

YAHOO SHAMELESSLY FOLLOWS FACEBOOK AND TWITTER

In the past, Yahoo has mostly been known for providing stupid answers to even more stupid questions. Recent developments in the companies images seek to change that. Well perhaps a little late to the party, they seem to be taking themselves in a much more social direction. Not unlike competitors Facebook or Twitter, Yahoo has made several improvements in order to get its users more involved.

THE DESIRE TO BE FACEBOOK

Being nearly ten years older than Facebook, Yahoo seems to be the frustrated older sibling that has watched it’s younger ones succeed far past them. There is no doubt that Facebook is the most successful social media site out there, and it’s understandable why Yahoo now wants to emulate them. Previously, they were a news site where the users had to duck, dive and dodge around articles and tabs. Now, the site aims to be much more focused. The “infinity scroll” that has taken the internet by storm, can now be found on Yahoo. That’s right, no going back or forth. Everything you desire is right there. Forever. To be even more like Facebook, this new design lets you sign in with your Facebook account. Now, you can just log on to Yahoo when you want to Facebook. How convenient.

YAHOO AND TWITTER BRING THE DISCUSSIONS TO YOU

There has been a popular trend for online news sources as of late. For those who haven’t noticed, many articles seem to shut down their comment section in hopes of avoiding some nasty banter. The internet does have the advantage of anonymity, so it’s understandable that some people are more opinionated. It is these opinions that many news outlets are afraid of, so they leave it to be duked out on the battlefield of social media. Twitter is no stranger to controversial “banter” between two parties. It has narrowly avoided some trouble due to cyber-bullying and what not. Yet, that is the beauty of the platform is it not? Yahoo certainly seems to think so. They aim to bring those same, healthy conversations that are seen on Twitter to their infinite front page. Fruitful results are bound to occur.
