Live broadcasting has become one of the best features for both Twitter, and now Facebook. The interaction between people that live broadcasting gives you is amazing. While you’re shooting your video, people can comment on it in real-time and then you can proceed to have a conversation with them. This type of broadcasting gives you a range of creativity that you can partake in, but there are differences between the Facebook version and the Twitter version.
TWITTER PERISCOPE VS. FACEBOOK LIVE VIDEO
THE FIRST KEY DIFFERENCE: COMMENTING
As previously mentioned, using live broadcasting allows users to comment on your video in real-time. However, the way the comments are displayed is different between Facebook and Twitter. On Facebook, you will notice that the comments will show up directly underneath the live video. This is in contrast to Twitter because, on their live broadcasting videos, the comments show up on the video itself. It is definitely a matter of opinion on which one you prefer, but both of them do work very well.
THE SECOND KEY DIFFERENCE: EXISTENCE OF THE VIDEO
The second difference between the live broadcasting versions of Twitter and Facebook is definitely the most important of the two. On Facebook, when you upload a live video it will stay there until you decide to delete it. So, even if you did not get to watch the video live you can still watch it in the future. Basically, you would be watching a re-run. However, Twitter does not have this same feature. While you can still watch the video after it is not live anymore, it will only stay up for around a day. This is extremely annoying because sometimes people do not have time to watch your video. Only keeping it up for one day can become inconvenient. The fact that the user has control of how long the video stays up for, on Facebook, is a huge advantage.
