Volkswagen has made the news in the last couple of months, but probably not in the way they would want. Meanwhile, Tesla has been introducing the world to autonomous pilot vehicles and all-electric vehicles.
Instead of making the news because of their success, Volkswagen can’t seem to get away from the diesel emission scandal. It is clearly evident that Tesla is ahead of them, and it is not even because of the vehicles that they mass produce.
FIRST REASON VOLKSWAGEN CAN’T TOUCH TESLA
Way back in September of last year, Volkswagen openly admitted that they had implemented software into their vehicles that made them emit 40 times the legal amount of pollution. They need to address this issue on around 575,00 of their 2 and 3 liter U.S. Vehicles. This is a staggering amount of cars, and one could wonder why on Earth the company would do something like this.
SECOND REASON VOLKSWAGEN CAN’T TOUCH TESLA
The second reason stems off of the first one but it is strictly about SUV’s. As of right now, the company must submit a plan to the CARB to fix around 80,000 3 liter SUV’s. The EPA reported that in these vehicles, there was unreported software that allowed these vehicles to emit nine times the legal amount of pollution. This is just completely unacceptable, and it is quite shocking that it happened.
THIRD REASON VOLKSWAGEN CAN’T TOUCH TESLA
Recently this month, this company was actually sued by The Justice Department. They sued them for up to $46 billion in the damage that was being caused by the vehicles emissions. The entire emission scandal is just a shame for a company as prestigious as Volkswagen. It is actually quite sad to see it, but the world can’t deny that they have taken a step back. Tesla should not have to worry about them anymore!
