XCOM 2, much like its predecessor, is a tactical turn-based video game.
The first game was a re-imagining of the classic 1994 title, and it was a solid video game. However, XCOM 2 seemed to do everything better than its predecessor, and here are the three big reasons.
REASON 1: CONCEALMENT FEATURE
New to XCOM 2 is what is known as the concealment feature. Unlike Xcom, this feature makes it a great tactic to sneak up on your opponents. You will notice how many of the missions will open in this mode, and your squad is free to move around the map. This is, of course, considering that nobody attracts an enemy, and then proceeds to get attacked. Let’s be honest, if you want to master this game then you better master this mode. This is one of the biggest improvements over Xcom, and it is brilliantly executed.
REASON 2: THE MISSION OBJECTIVES
In Xcom, many times you were required to jump from a bomb to a bomb with only about three turns. This was not only frustrating but was also not interesting in the slightest. However, in XCOM 2 these are replaced with singular objectives that give you around eight turns to accomplish. What this does is make it so you do not lose your freedom, but also does not make it too easy. As far as the objectives go, base defense, search and rescue, and targeted assault are among them.
REASON 3: FUN FACTOR
What is the most important part of any video game? The answer to this question, of course, is how much fun it is. Well, even though this is an opinion, XCOM 2 is more fun to play than Xcom. The missions are more fun, the added concealment feature adds an amazing gameplay element, and the game feels more fluid.
