How many of you reading this article want to end hipsters once and for all? Let’s face it, Brooklyn hipsters, in specific, are annoying, can’t stop trending, and should not be tolerated with anymore. The only problem is they may actually be beneficial to science. Recent news has surfaced that there are certain bacteria in beards that can actually work as an antibiotic. As people know, many Brooklyn hipsters can be seen with beards, and unfortunately, this may give the world a reason to keep them around.
REASON 1: THE BROOKLYN HIPSTER’S BEARDS CAN HELP WITH SCIENCE
Adam Roberts is the famous microbiologist who came to the conclusion that the bacteria in beards could help fight certain infections. Roberts and the World Health Organization are concerned about the fact that the world is overusing antibiotics, and that bacteria is growing a resistance to them. Roberts has been gathering the bacteria from humans for years with his Swab and Send program. Well, he then decided to gather samples from 20 different bearded men. He then placed this bacteria in a dish with harmful bacteria, and he found that it started killing off the harmful bacteria. As Roberts puts it, they were producing their own antibiotics. Science is going to have to turn to Brooklyn hipsters, and that just doesn’t seem right.
REASON 2: THE DATA THAT SCIENCE CAN GET FROM THEM
The more samples that Roberts, and other biologists, around the world, get from beards, the more of a chance the world has to fight infections. If this can be studied by science, then the world will have no choice but to keep Brooklyn hipsters alive. Given how smart scientists are, they can turn this bacteria into an antibiotic. They could then mass produce this antibiotic and people around the world could use its benefits. So, I guess hipsters can be useful after all.
