Previously, when users had two accounts on the website they had to log out and then log into their other account. Now, all that you will have to do is select your other account from a menu, and you will have successfully switched between your accounts. Instagram had their reasons for doing this, and here are a few.
REASON 1
One of the biggest reasons, if not the biggest, reasons Instagram decided to do this was to make life easier for their users. Although logging out of your current account and then logging into your second account doesn’t sound too bad, after a while, it will become a hassle and the company was right for making an easier way to accomplish this. Also, this way it makes the accounts actually linked to one another.
REASON 2
Instagram soon realized that as soon as their photo sharing app was becoming more popular, the need for multiple accounts was growing. This was especially evident with business owners, as they could have their business account, as well as their personal account. This makes it a thousand times easier for them to not have to worry about cramming everything into one account.
REASON 3
The New York Times noted that kids these days like to separate their social presence on Instagram. To do this, they need to have multiple accounts. One account is used as a fake account in which they can upload all of the stupid stuff that they do with their friends. The other account could then be their official account where they act more professional. The latter account is in case a teacher, parent, or boss looks them up on Instagram. This is a great decision by the company, and it is one that should have all avid users excited.
