Let’s face it, lowlifes who decide to drive drunk should be considered worse than most criminals. The great thing, though, is that technology is beginning to deal with these jerks. There have been ignition alcohol detectors that have been implemented into vehicles, and Ford, BMW, and Honda should also consider doing it.
FIRST REASON FORD, HONDA, AND BMW SHOULD CONSIDER THIS
The first reason is the most obvious reason, and it is because drunk drivers will kill innocent people. Rich Leotta was recently surrounded by several Maryland lawmakers in a news conference, and he brought up the fact that his son had his life taken by a drunk driver. Unfortunately, many other people can relate to him because many others have seen their loved ones killed by a drunk driver. The world needs to do everything in their power to stop them, and Ford, BMW, and Honda could implement these ignition alcohol detectors to do so.
SECOND REASON FORD, HONDA, AND BMW SHOULD CONSIDER THIS
There is no doubt that this technology would help because the Mothers Against Drunk Driving having given numbers that prove it. During the conference, Leotta was joined by some of the officials of MADD. They released a report that showed how interlocks that require motorists to breathe into a tube before driving, have stopped nearly 1.8 million cases of drunk driving. This is a startling number, and it should not take much more than this to convince you.
THIRD REASON FORD, HONDA, AND BMW SHOULD CONSIDER THIS
I know this is going to be a little vague, but the main reason this needs to happen is to make the world a safer place. We as people should not have to worry about being killed by a drunk driver, and it needs to stop. These three vehicle companies, if they haven’t already, should decide to set a good example for the world and implement this technology. It is really as simple as that, and nothing more needs to be said.
