Spotify is a music streaming service, and it has become one of the best in the world. So, what can make these two any better? How about adding them together, and being able to play music from Spotify into the Amazon Echo? This is indeed what has happened, as long as you have a premium membership with Spotify. There are a couple of reasons why this happened, and both of them make perfect sense.
FIRST REASON: IT WAS A VERY REQUESTED SERVICE
Toni Reid, a director at Amazon, spoke about why the two sides decided to reach an agreement. Reid noted how one of the most important features to the Amazon Echo is music. Then, Reid went on to say how Spotify had been one of the most requested services from their fans. So, reading under the lines, the main reason this happened is because the people made it happen. This proves that if people do whatever they can to get something, they will most likely get it. This is going to be great for both of the companies because they have produced what the users wanted. Is there really anything more important than giving people what they want?
SECOND REASON: THE INNOVATION
The Global Head of Hardware at Spotify, Ian Geller, also had a chance to comment on this great agreement. Geller expressed his joy for all of their subscribers, and also noted how creating innovative experiences is their core mission. Well, allowing their users to use Spotify with the Amazon Echo is as innovative as you can get. The only drawback, if there is one, to this is that only people in the United States are going to be able to experience this. A Spotify spokesperson notified how there are no details on if this will be expanded.
