People around the world can now breathe a sigh of relief because Watch Dogs 2 is going to happen. Ubisoft, the company behind the open world action-adventure game, announced in their end of the quarter financial report that Watch Dogs would be getting a sequel. This is incredible news because the first installment was met with tremendous reception. Sure, the first Watch Dogs was not perfect but it did feature really good hacking elements, as well as an excellent amount of variety in the missions. There is not that much that is known about this sequel, but here are a few interesting facts about it.

FIRST FACT: WHEN WATCH DOGS 2 CAN BE EXPECTED

Not only did Ubisoft confirm that they are working on a sequel, but they also gave an estimated timetable for it. Per their report, Watch Dogs 2 will be done by the next fiscal year, and that ends on April 2017. So, the world can expect that this sequel will be available no later than April 2017. The original Watch Dogs was released in 2014, and this would put around a three year stretch between the two games. This is not such a bad thing because Ubisoft needs to make sure that they don’t rush the sequel. As a matter of fact, the longer they work on it the better it will be for everyone.

SECOND FACT: THE LINEUP IT WILL JOIN

As mentioned earlier, not much is known yet about Watch Dogs 2. However, we do know that this game will join a few other games for Ubisoft’s lineup over the next year. Some of these games include Ghost Recon: Wildlands and South Park: The Fractured Whole. Notice how Assassins Creed was not mentioned, and that is because we will probably not see another installment for a while. With the addition of Watch Dogs 2, the next year should be very kind to Ubisoft.
