Boy, times have changed since that was cool! Nowadays it is almost embarrassing to do so unless you are announcing you’re engaged. As sad as it may be, when Facebook first started this was one of the most prominent features. If you didn’t already know, here are a few reasons why you should never use the relationship status on Facebook.

Top 2 Reasons to Not Use the Relationship Status on Facebook Clapway

FIRST REASON: NO ONE DOES IT ANYMORE

It is completely understandable if people want to be unique, and stand out from the crowd. However, using the relationship status on Facebook is an exception to the rule. An unknown website actually ran a reader poll on who still would change their relationship status. This poll was taken for people in their twenties, and most of them revealed that they would never change their relationship status. As a matter of fact, 43% of the total poll said this is something that they would never do. Some of them said it is too cheesy, others said they didn’t want others to see their relationship status, and some said because their partners didn’t want them to. Either way, you look at it, the times of putting your relationship status on Facebook are over.

SECOND REASON: PEOPLE CAN WATCH YOUR BREAK-UP

Sometimes, when you switch your status from taken to single, you will get constant attention afterwards. There was an article that was previously written by Sofia Barrett, and she explained some of the problems she was having on Facebook. She mentioned how her colleagues and friends would constantly approach her after she changed her status to single. Everyone was aware of when she would break-up with someone and she hated it, she went on to say. Your privacy is gone when you constantly change your relationship status, and you shouldn’t do it.
