Users of Facebook can now rejoice as a mild inconvenience has now been abolished on Android. Having multiple accounts used to be a tedious task. Logging out, then logging in and logging out again only to have to log back in later. This was what our horrible lives consisted of if you happened to share a device with someone. Fortunately, this muli-account feature has been made and we can gain one minute of our hectic lives back.

FACEBOOK UNVEILS MULTIACCOUNT FEATURE FOR MESSENGER

Facebook’s new feature that allows multiple accounts on Messenger is to be rolled out exclusively on Android. There is no mention of an iOS version at the moment. The feature is aimed at friends and families who share a mobile device. Facebook has seen their complaints and has valiantly responded. The new messenger will make communication simple and secure. Now, multiple people can log in and use messenger from one singular source.

NEW FEATURE AN ANDROID EXCLUSIVE

According to Facebook, the whole process of adding accounts to your Android version is fairly straight forward. Under the settings menu, users will see a new icon called “accounts”. From there you just add the individual messenger accounts. Once that is said and done, Facebook Messenger can remember the rest and will take over from there. Essentially, all the responsibility Android previously had been completely taken up by Facebook now. One can’t help but ask, will this bode well for Android?

IOS LEFT OUT OF SOCIAL MEDIA LOOP

It is rather curious that iOS seems to be left out of this breakthrough technology. It’s not like Zuckerberg and Apple are exactly best friends, but it’s an interesting move that he would unveil this with Google specifically. Is it a friendly gesture towards Google, or is the social media giant trying to fully control Google’s mobile platform? Perhaps it starts will multiple messaging accounts, but who really knows what tomorrow will bring. The less control Google has over the technology, the fewer people will need them. Zuckerberg and Co. could very well be trying to squeeze their way into Google’s shoes. Of course, this is all just a matter of speculation …or is it?
