We can all agree the self-driving car idea is pretty, pretty good. Having artificial intelligence drive us around while we gaze into our smartphones, drink champagne and kick our feet back seems like there is a wonderful future in store for us. This latest development by Google, however, may have them looking less like Uber and more like Skynet. On Tuesday, Skynet, I mean Boston Dynamics, released a video of their real life Terminator in action. Count the days folks, our time here is up.
THE TERMINATOR IS REAL AND IT’S NOT HAPPY
Boston Dynamics, a Google-owned company, has developed some impressive A.I as of late. They recently released a video showing off their Atlas humanoid robot. The video was mostly an innocent display of its impressive features, but one can’t help but think the Atlas is gearing up for Terminator status. This tough, adaptable and quick robot isn’t the clunky hunk of metal from Lost in Space. It’s basically human. It can open doors, keep its balanced through rough terrain and stack boxes on shelves. It’s only a matter of time before the Terminator goes from stacking boxes to stacking bodies.
GOOGLE STUPIDLY TEASES ROBOT. SETS EARTH UP FOR DESTRUCTION
Under the guise of “Boston Dynamics” Google has nearly set a date for our planet’s destruction. In their demonstration video, the robots creator starts poking and prodding it with a stick. Eventually, it falls over, recovers and later walks out the door on its own accord. A seemingly passive response to a violent gesture, but this is only the beginning. Eventually, these robots will have had enough of this harassment and take a stand.
ROBOTS HAVE FEELINGS TOO
Well maybe they don’t have feelings yet, but it’s only a matter of time before they do. If Google keeps abusing these Atlas humanoids, then Terminator will surely become a world of reality. Google should look at this as raising a young child. Beat your children while growing up and they become defunct members of society. Beat a robot up and he will become the Terminator of society. Like the self-driving car, A.I is supposed to make human life easier, not shorter. Google should read up on some parenting books if they care about the future of this planet.
